Let’s bring your writing dreams to life

Book Coaching with Rachel Warmath

Why hire a book coach?

I’ll help you stay focused and accountable to your writing goals, which means you can write your book much faster and with more ease than if you tried to do it alone.

I’ll also remind you that the first draft gets to be messy!

(Which is something that most authors need to hear.)

Together, we’ll volley ideas back and forth. I’ll review your writing in real time as you work on it, so you have direction on what’s working and where to make adjustments. My goal is for you to leave each coaching session feeling empowered, and super clear on what your next step is.

I’m a writing coach who sees you as a whole person.

I’ll help you build courage

Writing a book asks a lot of you. I help you learn to trust your voice, quiet the self-doubt, and move through any old, limiting beliefs that have been holding you back.

Clarify your message

When we work together, I listen closely and help you figure out what you’re actually trying to say in your book, not what you think you should say. I help you get crystal clear on what your book is going to deliver to your audience.

Consistency and progress

No two writers create the same way. I’m here to help you uncover the specific creative rhythms and rituals that best support you. And then help you get really consistent with your process—so much so that you look forward to writing instead of dreading it!

What’s included in book coaching?

  • Zoom meetings to talk through your writing, celebrate progress, and talk through ways you feel stuck

  • Tailored support to help you strengthen your voice and unique writing gifts— I will tell you exactly what to lean into and bring out more of on the page

  • Up to 4,000 words of manuscript review before each session. Having my feedback ensures you’re not writing yourself in circles!

  • Audio messaging between sessions so you can get answers to your questions as they come up

  • Intuitive exercises to help you hear your true voice beneath fear, doubt, or perfectionism

  • Support for the emotional blocks that arise so you can keep writing with clarity and ease— and feel supported, not alone or isolated in your process

  • Somatic and grounding practices to stay regulated while you write about vulnerable things

  • Guidance for how to embrace the identity of being an author and how to own your story fully

Tell Me About Your Project

Having worked with over 175 authors on their books, these tend to be the top 3 factors that determine whether an author finishes and publishes their book:

  1. Do you have support? Without a coach, community, or group of author friends to encourage you along the way, you’re likely to fail, especially if you’re a first-time author.

  2. Did you get professional feedback on the structure and core concept of the book?

  3. Did you create a sustainable writing practice rather than trying to “force” your way through it?

Client Success Story: Angela, author of The Unseen Edge

When Angela and I began working together, she already had a full draft of her book—a hybrid project blending her ex-military experience with an emotional intelligence framework. She had powerful material, but she wasn’t sure how to structure it or which stories needed more depth. She’d also received discouraging advice from another publishing company to water down her voice, which left her feeling disconnected from her own story and overwhelmed by the process.

As we moved through our developmental editing work, we also met for regular coaching calls. Those conversations became a turning point. Together, we explored the heart of her message, processed the moments where self-doubt was creeping in, and reconnected her with the strength and clarity that originally inspired her to write this book. By the time we finished, she was reclaiming her voice and feeling more confident in the value of her story.

During the developmental edit, I focused on shaping the chapters into a compelling narrative flow and expanding the scenes grounded in her lived experience (sometimes asking her to go deeper into the sensory details of scenes). We also streamlined the research-heavy sections, and refined the overall tone so it felt consistent and unmistakably hers.

The result was a manuscript that finally sounded like Angela: bold, intelligent, decisive, and grounded, many of the qualities she teaches in The Unseen Edge. I absolutely loved working on this book and am excited for leaders everywhere (including in the military and in corporate settings) to benefit from Angela’s wisdom.

“I don't think I would have published without your editing and coaching help! Your gentle nudges to keep going made me feel accountable to my book and you guided me in a kind way. So grateful. Thank you for inspiring and helping others through their book journeys.

— Angela Hansen, author of The Unseen Edge: What the War in Ukraine Taught Me About Leadership and the Power of Emotional Intelligence

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From Angela’s 5-star reviews on Amazon:

"Leadership lessons from the trenches."

"A firsthand perspective on war and accountability that is not often shared."

"Honest, human, and genuinely motivating. 10/10 recommend!"

"Such an exciting book to read."

"Finally someone is speaking the truth about this."

"I am into human relations and this was insanely perceptive."

"I greatly admire the author for her courage."

Asking Big Questions As You Write Your Book

While writing a memoir or nonfiction book, it’s completely normal to wrestle with deep, vulnerable questions. Writing your story takes courage, clarity, and support, especially if your book involves trauma or personal transformation.

As a trauma-informed writing coach, memoir writing coach, and book coach for authors, I help clients explore these big questions every week. I often hear things like:

  • What does “success” really mean for my book… and how will I know if I’ve achieved it?

  • How do I stand out when there are already so many memoirs and nonfiction books on this topic?

  • What writing process works best for me? Should I write every morning? How many hours a week should I spend on my book?

  • How should I organize my ideas?

  • Will my family or friends be upset if I write about them?

  • What if writing about my trauma brings up emotions I’m not ready to face?

  • What if I’m stuck? How do I get un-stuck?

  • Is my book done? How do I know it’s ready for editing?

If you’re asking any of these questions, you’re not alone! I’d love to chat with you more about your project and see if coaching might be a fit.

Whether you’re writing a memoir about healing, publishing a nonfiction book, or simply beginning to explore your story, trauma-informed book coaching helps you move forward with clarity, self-trust, and creative momentum.

You’re a mystic, healer, coach, or soul-led leader who knows there’s a book inside you.

When you say YES to your book, and you bring me in as your guide, we each have our own roles.

Your part:

- Commit to welcoming the energy of the book forward (even when fear, doubt, or busyness shows up)

- Speak your truth honestly

- Show up to the process with curiosity

- Stay open to letting the book shape who you're becoming

- Trust that everything that's happening in your life is feeding the writing process, even if unexpected sh*t happens

- Trust that you don’t have to do this alone

My part:

- Hold the emotional, energetic, and creative container so you’re not carrying this alone

- Do energy work that will help us get the words out

- Help you clarify your message without watering it down

- Translate your lived, embodied wisdom into clear, powerful language

- Create structure that actually fits your brain, nervous system, and life

- Guide you through the craft and the initiation of becoming an author

- Keep the momentum alive without pushing you into burnout

Together, we design a collaborative process that works for you—your energy, your schedule, your capacity, your real life. There is no hustling needed. As a result, you'll feel supported instead of overwhelmed.

And on the other side?

You have a finished book you’re proud of.

A book that reflects who you’ve become.

A book that strengthens your authority, deepens your impact, and carries your legacy forward.

If you’re feeling a quiet (or not-so-quiet) YES while reading this…

Let’s talk about your book.

How Coaching Works

Step 1: Connection Call

We’ll start with a free, no-pressure 30-minute call to talk about your goals, challenges, and vision. This is our chance to see if we’re a good fit and map out the best path forward.

Note: I prefer to focus these calls on what you can expect from coaching and any questions you might have, not on your personal story or the content for your book itself.

If you hire me, we’ll go deeper into your specific project during our first official coaching call!

Step 2: Finding a Rhythm in Your Writing Practice

I’m here to help you develop a creative process that you look forward to, so writing your book doesn’t feel like a chore. We’ll meet twice a month on Zoom to discuss what’s working with your process, what needs to shift, and how to bring out your gifts as a writer. We’ll concept your book so you’re clear on what chapters to focus on next. I also offer support via audio messaging on Telegram or Voxer and manuscript review before every call. This way, you have real-time feedback on what’s working and if you need to adjust direction as you go. Every writer has different needs, so our coaching plan will be tailored to meet you where you are and give you the best support possible to get your book written in a timely, efficient, and emotionally supportive way.

Step 3: Regular Sessions & Feedback on Your Work

Through one-on-one sessions, we’ll tackle each phase of your project together: writing, editing, publishing, launching, and continuously sharing your work. You’ll get feedback, encouragement, and practical advice to keep moving forward. I’ll have you send me pages of your manuscript 48-72 hours before we meet, so I can share my thoughts and reflections with you on the call. In these sessions, I bring all of my developmental editing experience and my keen eye as a marketer. I am an author myself so I fully understand how overwhelming the process can feel at times. My goal is to offer you holistic support so that you feel incredibly confident in your manuscript itself, you launch it in a way that feels authentic to you, and you build emotional resilience along the way.

Step 4: Ongoing Support via Telegram or Voxer

Between sessions, I’m just a message away. Whether you have a question, need encouragement, or want to share a breakthrough, I’ll be there to support you. Many clients say that this is one of the most helpful parts of my coaching because they’re not waiting around for answers and they don’t get caught in cycles of doubt or overwhelm. Send me a quick voice note or written text and I’ll respond within 24-48 hours (during regular business hours). This is also a great way for us to build rapport and trust as we get to know each other. I love hearing how things are going for you outside of book writing and ways that your creative process overlaps with daily life. I will help you see how everything that’s happening during the period you write your book is meant to support your evolution into becoming an author.

Who Is Coaching For?

My coaching is ideal for:

  • First-time authors, especially if you’re feeling nervous, stuck, or unsure of where to start. Together, we’ll create a clear, supportive plan for writing, revising, and publishing your book.

  • Experienced writers who are ready to elevate a manuscript, deepen your storytelling, and prepare to pitch to traditional publishers or agents.

  • Healers, coaches, therapists, and trauma survivors who want to write about personal transformation, healing, or recovery in a safe, trauma-informed space.

  • Entrepreneurs and thought leaders who want to publish a nonfiction book to grow their business, attract clients, or share their message with a wider audience.

  • Creatives and visionaries who feel a calling to tell their story but need accountability, emotional support, and expert guidance to bring it to life.

If this resonates, reach out to me to book your free discovery call and let’s explore how coaching can support you in writing your most authentic and powerful book.

“I cannot express enough how much Rachel helped me with my goal of self-publishing my first book. It was a daunting task to take 40 years of memories, over 65,000 words and form it into a cohesive story. Rachel was not only comfortable with the obvious task of editing typos and punctuation, but she really helped me with sections of the story that needed more clarity and she guided me through the process.”
