Workshops on Self-Publishing

Saturday, July 12th at 4PM MST: Meet Your Inner Critic (And Stop Waging War With Her)

People will tell you to silence your inner critic. To squash her. Banish her. Ignore her. But here’s the truth I’ve discovered:

Trying to silence your inner critic only creates a war inside yourself.

In this workshop, we’re doing something radical:

We’re going to get to know the voice of the inner critic. We’ll explore what she’s afraid of, what she’s trying to protect, and how to work with her—not against her.

Because when you understand your inner critic, you can finally stop letting her run the show. Your confidence grows. Your creativity flows. Your writing deepens.

Join us for a compassionate, empowering session where we’ll:

  • Identify your inner critic’s patterns

  • Rewrite the script she’s been repeating

  • Practice relating to her with curiosity, not contempt

  • Create space for a more supportive, confident inner voice

You’ll leave with a powerful shift in how you relate to yourself—and your writing. Come as you are. Bring your journal. Let’s meet her together.

Recorded Sessions You’ll Have Access to Upon Joining:

  • How to self publish your finished manuscript (including information on Amazon KDP, Ingramspark, or your own website)

  • Launching a book in a way that feels true to you (even if you don’t enjoy posting on social media)

  • Creating S.M.A.R.T. writing goals and how to make goal-setting fun (so you actually want to do it!)

  • Navigating letting go of perfectionism and self-sabotage

  • 3 techniques to get into flow state when writing

  • How to hire a professional editor for a self-published book and how to get the most out of the editing process

  • Money/abundance mindset for writers

  • How to self-publish using Amazon, IngramSpark, Lulu, or direct to readers

  • A behind-the-scenes look at Rachel’s 5-year self publishing journey

  • Back Your Book: Navigating the emotional and mental expansion of being more SEEN as an author

About Me

Hey, I’m Rachel.

I’m a self-published author and 14+ year award-winning blogger. I’m the founder of Alive in the Fire. I am passionate about helping women tell their stories, show up authentically online, and find success in their creative endeavors.

I started this group because even though I’ve been a writer my whole life, it took me a long time to find the confidence to publish my work and open myself up to feedback.

I know what it’s like to be held back by soul-crushing perfectionism, self-doubt, and being at war with yourself internally.

Is my writing good enough?

Would anyone want to read it?

Who am I to share my writing, anyway?

I’ve struggled with all of these questions and many more.

I know what it takes to build confidence and create momentum. I know how powerfully your life can change when you start to take your writing seriously and make time for it. And I’m here to help you do just that.
