Rachel Warmath, Book Editor

I have a special passion for books about animals, pets, nature, sustainability, and the powerful bond between humans and animals. I have worked with over 175 authors, and have edited books on dog behavior, animal communication, and horseback riding technique.

I create grounded, supportive space for authors to channel their expertise and tell powerful stories about the wisdom, behavior, and deep connections we share with our animal companions.

I, Centaur by Christen Schweizer

I am so grateful that I was able to do a developmental edit for Christen Schweizer’s incredible book, I Centaur: Coregulation Mentorship for Horses, Humans, and Mastery.

This one was an absolute joy to edit. I, Centaur is a beautifully original and thought-provoking book that blends horsemanship, psychology, mentorship, and personal growth in a way I’ve never seen before. In her book, Christen offers a powerful framework for how deep, attuned relationships can lead to true mastery, whether you're working with horses or people.

In my conversations with Christen throughout the editing process, I was constantly struck by the depth of her knowledge—and even more so by the depth of her heart. Her passion for horsemanship, mentorship, and human development runs deep, and it shows in every page of this book. As we worked together, I got a behind-the-scenes look at how seriously Christen takes her own training process—not just as a rider, but as a lifelong student of psychology, connection, and compassionate leadership. She embodies the very principles she writes about, which makes I, Centaur feel both intellectually rich and emotionally resonant.

Perros Argentinos // Argentine Dogs by Justine Marion Massey

Perros Argentinos // Argentine Dogs: Wild Poems and Related Stories traces Justine's vivid journey through Argentina that weaves together love, loss, adventure, and our urgent relationship with the natural world.

It is a bilingual collection of prose and poetry that moves fluidly between English and Spanish

Justine's voice is raw, honest, and luminous. The pieces in this book are breathtaking. She reflects on grief, identity, friendship, culture, climate change, adventure, and how personal transformation and environmental healing are inseparable.

I worked with Justine for over a year in a coaching capacity, meeting with her on a monthly basis to talk through her process of gathering different poems, arranging them, overcoming fears and blocks, and moving into the production side of her self-publishing journey. I also edited Justine’s book.

It's a stunning piece of art and it has been such an honor to walk with Justine through the process of creating it.
