Trauma-Informed Book Coaching for Memoir and Nonfiction Authors
with Rachel Warmath, Book Coach
Writing a book is an initiation.
And it’s one you don’t have to navigate alone.
If you’re writing a book about the moments in life that have shaped you… or the wisdom it has taken a lifetime to gather…
The creative process can be intense!
Writing a book brings up old stories, self-doubt, perfectionism, and fear of being seen.
Your story deserves to be told. You deserve to feel supported while telling it.
Hey, I’m Rachel Warmath
I’m a publishing professional who has walked this path with more than 175 authors.
I support writers on the initiatory path of becoming an author.
Writing a book is about more than just getting words onto the page.
It’s soul work.
For 15 years, I’ve been creating spaces where authors discover new versions of themselves in the process.
I bring together professional book development and publishing expertise with trauma-informed, body-aware coaching. I pay attention to what's happening beneath the surface, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work with you to find a way forward that respects your capacity and your creative process.
What does a book coach do, anyway?
As your book coach, I help you:
See the path forward— know what exact steps to take from here to get your book draft finished
Build and keep momentum— keep writing, and talk through any fears or doubts that come up
Learn about publishing— and decide on the best option for you, whether that’s self publishing, traditional publishing, or hybrid
What My Author Clients Are Saying
“I am feeling a lot better as I'm working on my book draft and just have a lot of really positive momentum. Thanks again for your support on this project. It makes such a huge difference to be accompanied in this by someone so smart and caring. A thousand thank yous.”
— Justine Marrion Massey, author of Perros Argentinos: Wild Poems and Related Stories, attorney and activist“It’s meant so much to connect with you as a person and to have you as one of my pillars of support. Your unique way of supporting me has been so deeply valuable. You have such a rare ability to meet me exactly where I am in my writing process, even when I feel like a mad scientist. Through you, I’ve learned to embrace how I naturally move through this work and even map it out in a way that makes sense. Every time we meet, it’s just so helpful. Thank you for creating that space for me.”
— Dr. Ava Pommerenk, soulful authenticity coach and transformation expert
“I’m very grateful that I have you as my coach. Without your help, this would have been a lot harder for me. You understood exactly what I was going through even more than I understood it. Thank you for your compassion, love and support. You are such an important part of my writing!”
— Jeimy A., memoir authorMemoir and Nonfiction Book Coaching
I work with authors writing memoir, transformational nonfiction, spiritual books, wellness books, personal development books, and other nonfiction projects.
For example, I’ve worked with:
A Western doctor telling stories about his shamanic path and supernatural experiences
A psychologist writing about her dark night of the soul and how she left an abusive marriage
A PhD life coach who supports clients experiencing trauma and grief, who’s reflecting on her own upbringing and relationship encounters, sexuality, and perspective on the world
Many of the writers I work with are telling stories of reclamation and inner transformation—and in becoming authors, they experience facing the demon or learning the lesson yet again.
Having a book coach is going to make all the difference in being able to handle those “oh sh*t” moments.
